This Week in Advanced Preaching
Hi preachers. This week in class we're going to press on with more analysis of Driscoll's sermon on the sick woman and the dead daughter, and Dan will bring us his talk to play with as well. I've emailed to ask everyone to do a five minute slice of transcript from the Driscoll talk, which will give us the whole thing to analyse much more closely. Please let me know if you can't contribute. When it's complete, I'll post it here. Here are some questions to ponder. Driscoll begins with a large (10 minute!) excursus on being a father to his daughter. Why is he doing this? (There could be a number of reasons!) At what point in the talk does it 'pay off'? What reasons can you see for, and against, doing something like this?
